The
Cowlitz Volleyball Club has involved a lot of
athletes in its long and storied history. Since
Bill Marshall became the Director in 1980, over
1,500 young women have played on
Cowlitz teams. The length of participation by
these athletes varies, with some playing for
only one year while others played for many more
seasons, either consecutively or intermittently.
The average tenure in the CVC is probably
somewhere around 3 years.
Since
the Club began offering 12-U division teams
many years ago, it became possible for
athletes to participate in the CVC for 7 years,
if they played every season from sixth to
twelfth grade. They could, in fact, put in more
years if they started playing even earlier.
Since 1996, several Cowlitz players
have reached that 7 year milestone. This is an
incredible accomplishment which deserves special
recognition.
"The 7-year Club"
has been established which lists those athletes who have been
members of the CVC for 7 or more years.

When
someone plays multiple seasons for the CVC, this
is not only an indicator of the quality of the
Cowlitz experience, but it also shows a special
commitment by the player to the CVC and to the
game of volleyball. Not only that, the parents
of the player have made significant sacrifices
to make it all possible. The Cowlitz Volleyball
Club salutes these players and their parents,
and looks forward to those who are about to join
this elite company.
