Pre-Qualifier Tournament

The day started with a dazed and confused 14's team and ended with a team ready to compete with good teams at the Pre-Qualifier tournament at LCC and Mark Morris on Sunday.

In pool play, they dropped their first two matches 1-2 and 0-2 to Cascade Juniors Excel and PVC Red, but finished with a 2-0 win against Power Surge Amanda to finish third in the pool. Against Cascade Juniors, Shayla Lane had eleven service points. Although PVC beat The Golden Girls, the team picked up its play and began to meld as a team. Rallies began to happen, the chatter picked up, and, the team felt good about their progress. In the win against Power Surge, Tiffany Wend served for ten points, including five aces.

In the afternoon, and following a long break, The team played Olympia and played their best all day. They lost two close games 21-25, 24-26, but felt good about their efforts. In that contest, Shelby Toland served a perfect 8 for 8, Brandi Malakoff and Tiffany Wend played excellent defense, and Hayley Gorton set a great match. Chelsea Dwyer had ten kills and Molly Boyle blocked well. On the day, the team served an excellent 87%, but the biggest accomplishment was becoming familiar with each other and a new system.
