Notes
and Quotes:
Wow,
what a great start! Our morning started
off strong. The girls played together as
if they had been with each other for a
couple years now. They communicated
well, our serve receive was great, our
attack was fast and our defense was
all-out. Everyone contributed to our
success throughout the day. We were the
only team the whole day that set ones to
the middle; many teams practiced ones in
their warm-ups but made no attempts
during a match. Our setters Denali
Preston and Talia Hamer were great
leaders; they are both powerful players.
Ranee Cline and Daryl Neu attacked the
middle consistently; they are both doing
something they had never done before but
are accepting the fast attack and
working hard to make it happen. Mandy
Clewett was aggressive as a right side
hitter and occasional outside hitter.
When her timing clicks for her, she will
be dangerous. Cayden Gaston served well
and came in to play left side defense
and was solid with consistent free ball
passes to the target. Allie Jones had
some time as a right side hitter for us
and did well. She's a lefty and has a
wicked swing. My seventh graders Marnee
Clancy, Andrea DeRosier, and Rebecca
Haight......WOW!!!! These are three
tough, aggressive girls and their will
to win at such an early age is exciting
for me as a coach and impressive that
they have such maturity on the court at
such an young age. We have much work to
do ahead, but with the work ethic of
these ladies and their love for this
sport, we will have an intense and fun
season. GREAT JOB LADIES!!!
