The Silver Fox
An
Interview with Bill Tuggle

Question
..... Who has the longest tenure with the Club
outside of Director Bill Marshall? If you
guessed Bill Tuggle, you were right!
Once featured in a huge article and picture in
the Daily News, Bill was portrayed as a member
of our Community who was "graying
gracefully". This "silver-haired
fox" has been involved with the Club since
1983 when as a 7th grader, daughter Tammi joined
our first ever 7th grade team. At that
time, Bill was a major player in girls' softball
as a coach and umpire. In 1984, Tammi went
to Davis, California and so enjoyed the trip
that Bill decided to go to Davis as a parent in
1985. That was it. The bug had
bitten and Bill took the 15's White team in
1986. He then took the 17's in 1987, and
in his first 14's experience placed in a tie
with 14's Black for 22nd at Davis in 1988.
Since that time, Bill has coached 14's Blue and
Black, as well as 16's Blue and currently
assists Jocelyn Price with the LCC team, who
consistently win the Division Title. As a
journeyman welder at Longview Fibre, Bill has
been involved with our community's young women
athletes since 1979. With wife Linda (who
wins every year at Las Vegas) who works in the
home title business, Bill has been a tireless
supporter of Cowlitz Volleyball. He is a
wonderful man who cares a great deal about our
young people. Next time you see Bill, tell
him thanks for making a difference.
